There are many factors to consider when looking for a place to live to find harmony in relationships on your locational astrology map.
Venus, the planet most associated with love, happiness, and relationships, plays a big role in the quality of relationships you might find in any given location, but it is not the only influence to look at. Here we will explore the possible manifestations of Venus in this regard, but we also discuss a few others.
One strategy that many people seek is to move close to their Venus Ascendant Line. This is a common inclination for people to want to do, so I go into detail here about the finer details of moving to this line to find love in relationships, as it is not usually quite that simple:
Another strategy is to move to a location where a benefic planet is in your 7th House, because the 7th House is the house of relationships in astrology. This is illustrated on the map by going West of that planet's Descendant Line. While this can add some positivity to relationships, the 7th House is often a placement that shows what we need to learn in relationships, so while you would most likely try to avoid a malefic in the 7th House, placing a benefic like Venus here could bring you more dating opportunities, but it doesn't always mean it brings the highest quality of relationships. Much of this has to do with the strength of that planet in your natal chart as well.
Instead, placing a benefic like Venus in the 7th House might be better for your social experiences in general. It can help you come before the public in a positive light, or help propel your career in some sort of creative or diplomatic profession. The relationship aspect of this Venus placement might be secondary to these other things.
It is also worth noting that you would most likely not want to go East of your Venus Descendant Line because that would bring Venus to your 6th House, which is the House of "problems." Doing so would likely bring up more relationship problems for you to deal with.
Knowing the different House meanings is an important component for figuring out where to live based on the influences from your astrology map. You can find out more about the 7th House (and all of the Houses) on the Astrology House Meanings page.
Many times, it's all about knowing which influences to avoid that can help you most in the area of relationships. When looking at parans, for instance, you'd most likely want to avoid any malefic influence with Venus, that is one of the simplest ways to avoid unnecessary conflicts in relationships, and quite often people are living near these lines without even knowing it! Here are some examples of parans that are good for relationships, and ones you should avoid:
This would be a good line to move to if you are woman who wants to meet and build a good relationship with a supportive, generous man. Here, the confident, powerful, and outward nature of the Sun combines with the supportive and generous nature of Ceres to create a nice combination of positive energy that can be good for a lot of things, including the prospects of finding a good partner.
This would be a good line if you are a man looking to find a nice supportive woman to build a relationship with. In this case the generous and supportive nature of Ceres combines with the nice and sweet nature of Venus where pleasant and enjoyable experiences with women can more easily manifest.
While this classically masculine and feminine combination seems like it would be an obviously good choice to find love and relationships, the fact of the matter is that it doesn't always end as harmoniously as you'd think. Short term it can be very passionate, but long term it tends to cause relationships to break, as the niceness of Venus and the harshness of Mars make it hard to get along after a while.
Parans are the horizontal lines that run along certain latitudes around the globe, made up by two planetary energies that have come together. You would need to be 70 miles North or South of one of these lines to feel the energy, and the closer you are the stronger the influence would be felt.
Another rule of thumb would be to avoid any paran where Venus combines with a malefic planet. A strong Venus is so closely tied to positivity in relationships that if you are to add any sort of malefic energy you are essentially creating unnecessary difficulty in this realm.
For instance, a Venus-Saturn Paran creates limitations in love, adding extra difficulty in relationships. Venus-Neptune makes relationships more complicated, where overwhelming emotions can often take over. Venus-Pluto can start off passionate, but deeper issues are more likely to surface as time goes on, creating pain and heartbreak.

All of the planets have some balance of benefic and malefic qualities, this list is meant to show their dominant qualities on either side in general. I left off ☉ Sun and ⚷ Chiron from this list, because they tend to straddle an equal balance of benefic and malefic energy, depending on the situation. The Sun with Venus can be positive for relationships, but you need to be careful not to let the egos take over. Chiron with Venus usually leads to a broken heart in relationships.
Using your astrology map to find where to live is a great way to see which locations in the world have the most positive planetary combinations for you, depending on your specific goals.
